iFlytek leads YRD AI industrial chain alliance

The Artificial Intelligence Industrial Chain Alliance in the Yangtze River Delta was established during a roundtable conference between entrepreneurs from around the YRD on Sept 9.

Hefei-based AI firm iFlytek is the leading unit of the alliance and Liu Qingfeng, chairman of iFlytek, is president of the alliance.

Liu said that the development of AI is at a critical stage after the pandemic and that the YRD is the most promising region to lead AI industrial development.

Liu suggested that members of the alliance enhance collaboration in AI innovation and human resources. He also said a supportive policy environment is important for the coordination of the AI industrial chain in the YRD.

The alliance will serve as a think tank for the development of AI in the YRD and help promote innovative AI applications across the region. It aims to enhance the competitiveness of the YRD's AI industry, facilitate the deep integration of AI and the real economy, and contribute to the integrated development of the YRD.

It consists of a number of AI-related major enterprises and academic institutions in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces, including Nanjing-based e-commerce company Suning, Hangzhou-based digital technology company Hikvision, Fudan University in Shanghai, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, and the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei.

The alliance is divided into four groups focusing on chip computing, core algorithms, intelligent scenarios, and industrial ecology.
